The Glenn Gould School Chamber Opera Barber’s A Hand of Bridge and Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti

This season’s offering will be a double bill of Samuel Barber’s A Hand of Bridge, a poignant miniature opera that reveals the hidden thoughts of four bridge players during a seemingly ordinary card game, and Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, a jazz-infused one-act opera depicting a day in the life of a troubled married couple living in 1950s suburbia.
